WARRINGTON Town's penultimate pre-season friendly ended in a disappointing defeat.
They were beaten 1-0 by North West Counties League outfit Padiham on Tuesday night, with Dominic Craig scoring the only goal of the game midway through the first half.
Bohan Dixon was dispossessed on the edge of the Padiham box and a ball over the top caught out the Yellows defence, with Craig racing onto it and finishing coolly into the corner.
Town were disjointed having trialled a three-man defence in the first half before switching back to their usual 4-2-3-1 formation after the break.
They did hit the crossbar twice – Matt Regan's first-half header shaved the woodwork before Dixon crashed a drive off the bar in the second.
Paul Carden's side have one more friendly match before the Northern Premier League season starts – against AFC Fylde at Cantilever Park on Saturday.
