JULIE Hughes, a golfer at Lymm Golf Club, has not let the lockdown stop her from supporting her Lady Captain, Lottie Makin, raise money for her season's choice of charity, St Rocco’s Hospice.

Julie was keeping fit throughout the period that the course was closed, and no golf could be played.

She made up for lost time on the golf course by plotting her 10km run around Lymm Golf Club.

Julie took on and met the challenge one early morning in late May and Lottie was on hand to take some memorable photographs as a super time of 59mins 30secs was recorded.

With the generous support of friends, family and Lymm Golf Club members, Julie has raised £2035 for St Rocco’s.

She explained that by using a ‘JustGiving’ page the money raised went straight to St Rocco’s.

Under the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic lockdown many charities were suffering from loss of income, so this donation will go some way towards helping a much-loved and much-needed worthy cause.

The 6341-yard par 71 course, situated between Lymm and the Manchester Ship Canal on Whitbarrow Road, is now open again to members with strict safety guidelines in place.
