WITH no league fixture last weekend, Jordan Gunter’s Knutsford FC side did at least get some action in as they played a friendly with North West Counties League side Stockport Town on an artificial surface.
Reds lost the match 3-1, with Wilf Riley scoring their only goal, but they were able to get players valuable minutes while having a look at some new additions to their squad.
One of Knutsford’s players – George Riley – played for the CFL’s Interleague side against West Cheshire at Hyde United on Saturday, with the latter winning 3-1.
Knutsford’s journey representing the Cheshire FA in the FA Senior National Cup continues on February 29.
They face Appleby FC of the Westmorland FA in the semi finals, with the game to be held at Kendal Town FC.
Today's home game against league leaders Whaley Bridge has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Manchester Road.
