THE final round of the Manchester Area Cross Country League saw two Warrington Athletics Club members secure overall titles.

Orla Gregory and David Watson both did what was required to be crowned overall league champions in their respective age groups as Heaton Park hosted the final round of action.

Gregory has defended the under 15s girls’ title she won last season by finishing second in the final race, stopping the clock at 19mins 19secs.

Her performance also helped Warrington to a third-place finish in the team event both on the day and in the series.

She was joined in the Warrington team by Lucie Davies, who finished ninth on the day and 10th overall, and Molly Wormald, who finished the series in 20th place having come home 29th on Saturday.
