FIVE more great servants of Woolston Rovers ARLFC have been inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame.
Dave and Nikki Whalley, Kevin Higham, Peter Livett and Graham Smith were all recognised for their contributions to the club and join the 17 members already inducted.
All five were celebrated at Rovers’ third annual Hall of Fame Dinner at a packed Masonic Hall, where guests were treated to a talk from Warrington Wolves legend Lee Briers.
“We had a wonderful evening celebrating with some fabulous people, each of whom have made a significant contribution to the growth of Woolston Rovers,” Rovers committee member Liam Horrigan said.
“Dave, Joanne and the staff at the Masonic Hall were wonderful hosts and Lee Briers was absolutely superb as he reminisced on his outstanding career – every single person in attendance was very impressed with him.
“Les Holmes from Frame Smart in Halifax also came along with some fantastic auction items that were snapped up, thus creating more funds for us, and excellent DJ Dave Birch added to the entertainment.
“It is getting more difficult to organize each year but the way that it is supported makes it all worthwhile.”
