MATTY Ashton collected a Man of Steel point on his Super League debut.
Like last year, expert panellists will award points to the top three performers in each match.
And the scoring will accumulate throughout the season to determine the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel Award winner at the end of the year.
Ashton, who joined The Wire in the off-season from Championship club Swinton Lions, was awarded a point in The Wire's 16-10 loss at Wigan Warriors, while three points were given to opposite full-back Bevan French and home back-rower Liam Farrell collected the two.
Warrington-born Andre Savelio, who had a season with The Wire before trying his hand in Australia with Brisbane Broncos, scored three points for Hull FC in their win at Leeds Rhinos.
