WARRINGTON Town have confirmed that midfielder Scott Brown’s loan deal has been extended.

Having initially joined Yellows on a 28-day loan on Christmas Eve, the 34-year-old will now remain at Cantilever Park for the rest of the season.

Brown has started all five of Town’s BetVictor Northern Premier League Premier Division fixtures since his arrival from National League outfit Harrogate Town, performing impressively in the heart of midfield.

News of Brown’s extended deal is a boost for manager Paul Carden, who has seen two of his central midfielders – Steve Jennings and Greg Tansey – forced to retire through injury this season.

Meanwhile, Yellows will face North West Counties League Premier Division leaders 1874 Northwich in the Cheshire Senior Cup quarter finals.

The tie will be played at Cantilever Park on Tuesday, February 4, kick off 7.45pm.

Town were due to travel to Mickleover Sports for a league fixture that evening, but that game will now be rearranged.
