BEN Murdoch-Masila has spoken of his “love” for Warrington Wolves and his openness to remaining at the club beyond this year.

The second rower enjoyed a memorable off-season having shone for a Tongan Invitational XIII in victories over both Great Britain and world champions Australia.

His displays led to reports Down Under that several NRL clubs were interested in bringing him back to a competition he last played in in 2015.

Murdoch-Masila’s contract with The Wire expires at the end of 2020 – a deal he says he would be happy to extend.

He admits there were conversations had with his management about NRL interest but that he “brushed it to one side.”

“I’d be happy to stay longer as I love this club. I’ve said that to Simon (Moran) and Fitzy (Karl Fitzpatrick),” he said.

“The way the club is run is up there with an NRL club and the people make you feel at home here.

“Me and my family certainly feel at home here.

“There was a bit of interest from the NRL, but I brushed it to one side as soon as I finished with Tonga.

“I hadn’t seen some of my family in two years so I wanted to spend some time with them and it was good to get that break.

“There was a couple of teams showing interest. I don’t know what is going on with it but at the moment, I’m happy to be a Warrington Wolves player.”
