LYMM’S seconds combined first-half flair with second-half grit as they won a key top-of-the-table clash on Saturday.
A 28-0 victory over third-place Sedgley Park allowed them to maintain second spot in the Cotton Traders Premiership in their final game of 2019.
All four of Lymm’s tries were scored in the first half at Beechwood as Rory Riddell, who turns 21 on Christmas Eve, giving himself the perfect early birthday present by scoring a hat-trick.
His first two efforts were similar and showed a combination of power and pace while his third saw him kick a loose ball ahead from the Lymm 22 and win the chase to touch down at the other end.
Lymm’s other score came via a penalty try, with Josh Davies adding four conversions.
Lymm squad: J Rooney, R Lilley, J Davies, R Riddell, R Forrest, T Baker, G Anderson, R Makin, J Dowdeswell, J Lewis, H Baldwin, W Baldwin, N Ashton, D Horton, O Brown, A Bray, H Simpson
