THREE of Latchford Albion’s promising crop of young players helped Lancashire to a resounding win at the weekend.

Ben Harper, Charlie McCurrie and Matty Ellis all played for the Red Rose county’s under 19s as they thrashed their Cumbrian counterparts 56-12.

McCurrie scored two tries for Lancashire, with Harper also getting himself across the whitewash while Ellis was named the official man of the match.

Albion head coach Martyn Ellis was also part of the Lancashire coaching staff while Matty Nash made the squad but missed the game through illness.

Lancashire's next game sees them travel to face Yorkshire on November 17.

Meanwhile, Albion will return to pre-season training on Wednesday, November 13.

Anyone interested in playing for the team next season is welcome at the first session at Penketh High School, which gets underway at 7pm.
