RYLANDS are full of beans as they return to North West Counties League action on Saturday.

They travel to Padiham off the back of two consecutive cup victories without conceding a goal – the latest being a 5-0 thrashing of Barnton on Friday evening.

That success came hot on the heels of a 3-0 win over Bootle in the FA Vase, leaving manager Dave McNabb a happy man.

"I thought we started the game well and dominated possession from the outset," he said of the Barnton victory.

"The lads moved the ball brilliantly throughout the first half and we deserved to go in at half time comfortably in front.

"Barnton deserve a lot of credit – they played some good stuff and didn’t keep going right until the end and I wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.

"Overall, a very pleasing performance scoring five and more importantly, gaining a second clean sheet in succession."

Goals from George Lomax and Freddie Potter had put Blues in full control under the lights at Gorsey Lane before Kane Drummond scored the first of his two goals on the stroke of half time.

Callum Lees' close-range finish five minutes after the restart put paid to any hopes of a Barnton comeback before Drummond rounded off the scoring midway through the second half.
