ADAM Fletcher bemoaned his Lymm side’s accuracy in possession and kicking following a heavy home defeat.

A Cormac Nolan penalty was all the hosts had to show for their efforts at Beechwood as Sandal left with a 34-3 victory.

While crediting his side’s effort, Fletcher admits the deficiencies in their game meant their more experienced visitors were always likely to take advantage.

“A disappointing result,” he said.

“I can’t knock the effort from the boys but our accuracy with the ball and our kicking wasn’t up to scratch.

“We were punished by a heavier, more experienced side.”

Lymm return to the north east on Saturday for a tough fixture against third-placed Blaydon.

Meanwhile, Lymm’s seconds continue to ride high in the Cotton Traders Championship after thrashing bottom side Preston Grasshoppers.

Six tries from as many different scorers helped them to a 39-17 victory while Richard McEvoy found the target four times with the boot as he kicked three conversions and a penalty.

James Lewis, Ollie Thornton and James Pitcher all crossed before the break while Lymm’s second-half tries came from Will Baldwin, Ben Rees and Reece Forrest.

They remain second in the table ahead of a trip to third-placed Sedgeley Park on Saturday.
