IN their first match as a team, Warrington Schoolboys under 14s pulled off a notable scalp.
Faced with a tough Cheshire Cup tie against defending league champions Knowsley & St Helens, they managed to emerge victorious.
Warrington, whose team was made up of students from five of the town’s high schools, raced into a 3-0 lead but their opponents managed to pull one back before half-time to set up a backs-to-the-wall second half.
Even though Knowsley managed to score again, Warrington’s defence held firm.
