LATCHFORD Albion had plenty of representation on the international stage on Saturday as three of their players – plus head coach Martyn Ellis – turned out for England.
Albion skipper Danny Brown had the honour of leading the North West Men’s League Lionhearts side and he earned the man of the match award as they beat Germany 24-18 in Leigh.
Ellis was part of the Lionhearts coaching staff while hooker Phil Woollacott was also part of the 19-man squad but did not play.
Before that, Matty Ellis played at hooker for the England Community Lions Youth as they drew 12-12 with Scotland’s under 19s.
