SKIPPER Ash Losh hailed the character of his Eagle side as they secured a league-and-cup double on Saturday.
A 13-3 win over Oldershaw at Thornton Road saw them extend their perfect start to the Halbro Division Four West season and progress in the Robinsons Brewery Shield.
Ben Mercer scored their only try, with Jay Rutter kicking a conversion and three penalties.
“The whole team performed well for the full 80 minutes,” a delighted Losh said.
“Although it seems wrong to single out individuals after that, there were some stand-out performance from flanker Louis Nixon, who seemed to be everywhere, and man of the match Simon Banks.”
Eagle make the short trip to Liverpool St Helens on Saturday.
