IN what was their final warm-up game before the new rugby union season begins, Lymm piled on the points at Beechwood.

Adam Fletcher’s side scored nine tries overall as Waterloo were beaten 56-12 in a game played over three 30-minute sessions.

Head coach Fletcher was pleased with the variety in his side’s play ahead of their opening Northern Premier game on the season against Blackburn on Saturday, kick off 3pm.

“I was pleased with the performance. We got the opportunity to practice our processes and systems against a decent side,” he said.

“We lacked a bit of accuracy in the first 20 minutes but after that I thought we were pretty clinical.

“It was nice to see a mix of different style tries and scorers from set pieces and open play.”

It was in the final quarter that Lymm really cut loose, with James Kimber, Cashel Chilvers, Cormac Nolan, Richard McEvoy and Joe Senior all crossing.

George Norman scored twice for the hosts, with James Pitcher and Tom Baker also crossing in the first hour.
