AFTER a loan move to Leigh Centurions was confirmed, Kevin Brown’s Warrington Wolves career is officially over.

The half-back, sidelined since pre-season with an Achilles injury, has joined the Championship outfit until the end of the current season.

He is nearing a return to fitness but with Matty Smith signing for the remainder of the campaign, his route to the first team appears blocked.

With his contract expiring at season’s end and with no new deal to be offered, the 34-year-old has played his last game in primrose and blue.

Brown will leave having played 55 times for The Wire since joining ahead of the 2017 season.

“We would like to thank Kev for his services to the club both on and off the field during his time with us, and for his recent professionalism while out through long-term injury,” chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick.

“During his time on the sidelines he has continued to be an important part of our squad, supporting the playing group with his vast playing experience within the game. We all wish him well.”

Brown’s signing was registered with the RFL prior to last Friday’s transfer deadline which makes him available for all Leigh Centurions’ remaining Betfred Championship and play-off fixtures.
