GREAT Sankey footballer Matthew Pennington is on the move again after securing a transfer on deadline day.
The 24-year-old Everton defender has completed a season-long loan move to Championship side Hull City in the hope of gaining more time on the pitch.
A former pupil at St Gregory’s Catholic High School, Pennington already has plenty of experience in the division having spent his last two seasons on loan with Leeds United and Ipswich Town respectively.
The defender has been on the periphery at Everton since signing for the club at the age of 11 and made his senior debut for the Toffees against Barnsley in 2015.
Speaking to Hull City’s official website, Pennington said: “I’m really pleased to be here and I’m feeling fit and ready to go.
“As soon as I became aware of the interest in me from Hull City I was straight onto it.
“I was looking to get back out on loan and was ready to come back into the Championship, so I’m looking forward to the season ahead.”
Pennington could make his debut for the Tigers in their next Championship game against Reading on Saturday.
