MICHELLE Davis once again led the way as Warrington Wolves Women moved to the top of the Championship table.

The England international winger continued her red-hot form as she crossed for a hat-trick of tries as The Wire comfortably saw off Huddersfield Giants at Victoria Park.

Davis also kicked three goals, taking her personal points tally to 18 as Lee Westwood’s side continued their bid for promotion to the Women’s Super League.

Rowanne Smalley crossed for a double, with Sally Conyers, Roxy Murdoch and Samantha Simpson also notching tries while Sophie Cowle added a goal.

The Wire leapfrogged Barrow with the victory and now lead them by one point, with both sides having a game in hand on third-place Leigh Miners Rangers.

Barrow provide the opposition for Wolves’ next game as Westwood’s side look to avenge their opening-day defeat in Cumbria, which is their only league loss so far.

The game takes place at Victoria Park on Saturday, August 4.
