A STAGGERING 80 gold medals were picked up by Warriors of Warrington swimmers at their latest outing in Sheffield.
More than 50 club members took part in Rotherham Metro’s summer meet and perhaps unsurprisingly, their exploits secured the award for best visiting club.
Eight of those golds went to 11-year-old Thomas Hilton, who also picked up three silvers as he won the ‘top boy’ award.
In addition to their mountain of gold, Warriors swimmers also brought home 35 silvers and 64 bronzes, making an unbelievable total of 179 medals overall.
The club also had two swimmers in action at the City of Manchester club’s long course meet, with both picking up medals aplenty.
Joseph Ashley won a superb six gold medals while Millie Ravenscroft earned one medal of each colour.
