YOUNGSTERS wanting to get into cycling will soon get the chance as a Warrington-based club is hoping to attract new members.

North Cheshire Clarion are to host an open day for those who wish to enter the world of cycle racing and hope to replicate the success of last year’s event.

Dakota Park in Chapelford will once again play host, with the session taking place on Saturday, July 20, from 10am.

The session is open to children of all ages and existing Clarion juniors and coaches will be on hand to share their skills and offer cycling advice to any prospective new members.

“It’s a great way to showcase to the residents of Warrington what we do and how cycling can benefit its young people,” a statement from the club’s coaching team read.

“It is also an opportunity for new riders to join the club and have the chance to show their skills in a fun and friendly environment.”

North Cheshire Clarion is run by volunteers who are all British Cycling-accredited coaches while the governing body will also be sending their own coaching team to help deliver the open session.

The event is not limited to youngsters who want to start racing either – those who wish to cycle on a more leisurely basis are also encouraged to attend to pick up some new skills and tips.
