Warrington Wolves Women 58 Leigh Miners Rangers Women 6

MICHELLE Davis’ fine individual display led the way as Warrington Wolves Women reaffirmed their promotion credentials.

The winger crossed for a hat-trick of tries and kicked six goals as The Wire leapfrogged their opponents with a dominant victory at Victoria Park.

Roxy Murdoch, Danielle Bound and Rowanne Smalley all scored twice as Lee Westwood’s side ran in 11 tries in all, with Samantha Simpson and Sophie Cowle rounding off the scoring.

The result allowed The Wire to jump above Leigh in the Women’s Championship table into second place.

They now trail leaders Barrow Island – the only side to beat them in the league this season – by just one point with a far superior points difference having played one game fewer.

Sunday’s game was the first of three consecutive home games for The Wire, with the next coming on Sunday, July 21, when Huddersfield Giants visit Victoria Park.
