JASON Clark felt the intensity of The Wire’s clash with St Helens last night matched that of an NRL fixture.
Wolves fell short against the Super League leaders, who came away with a 21-10 victory after what was an attritional battle for much of the game.

Clark, who before this year had spent his entire career with South Sydney Rabbitohs, says the game would not have looked out of place in the Australian competition.
“It was fast and something a bit different, especially with the warm weather,” he said.
“There was some great footy out there to watch from the sideline.
“The crowd was outstanding as well – the place was full and I loved seeing that.
“It was on par with an NRL game, I’d say.
“It didn’t go the way we wanted it to go. We put in a great effort for 80 minutes but it wasn’t to be.
“There were a few little things we fell down on – I was one of them for giving away a penalty with the ball.
“Those little things can come back to bite you on the backside.
“There were a few things that went against us but we’ll work on it.”
