TICKETS for The Wire's clash with St Helens tonight are closing in on being sold out.

An update was issued this afternoon saying less than 400 tickets remained on the South Stand terrace, while seated tickets in the North and East Stands were now very limited.

The Wire are at least on track for their largest Super League attendance of 2019, beating the crowd of 13,106 that watched March's 25-12 win over Wigan Warriors.

The crowd will be boosted by a sizeable travelling support, with Saints having sold around 3,000 tickets to visiting fans.

Since The Halliwell Jones Stadium was extended to a capacity of 15,200, only one Super League game has ever been sold out – the Good Friday 'derby' against Widnes Vikings in 2016.

With the game also falling on Warrington Walking Day, Wire head coach Steve Price is keen to see the stands as packed as they can be.

"These are the type of games you look for on the calendar," he said.

"It’s one versus two – they have been really consistent in all their actions this year.

"For the place to be sold out would be unreal. I’m told the last sell-out here was 2016 so hopefully we can get that again.

"If you haven’t got a ticket, get yourself down and watch two top-quality teams going hard at it.
