TOM Greaves smashed his personal best 5km time while in action for Warrington Athletics Club on Friday.

Running in Race E of the Podium 5km road race, Greaves’ time of 15mins 48secs bettered his previous leading time by 36 seconds and was good enough for him to finish 21st.

Meanwhile, five Warrington members took part in the latest Trafford Grand Prix on Tuesday.

Megan Kettle was the only one to be competing in a field event and she impressed in the hammer, coming second with a throw of 35.74m.

Paul Bagan recorded a personal best in the 3,000m, with the over 40s runner finishing 13th in 9mins 34.53secs.

In the same race, under 20s athlete Charlie Turnbull came home just after Bagan in 14th by clocking 9mins 44.86secs, with Joe Roberts one place further behind in 9mins 49.09secs.

Jack Wadsworth finished eighth in his 800m race as he clocked 2mins 3.01secs.
