JACK Mackreth has rebuffed interest from teams in higher divisions to remain with Warrington Town.

The fleet-footed winger will be a part of Paul Carden’s squad next year having turned down offers from teams in the National League North.

Mackreth enjoyed the best goalscoring season of his career in 2018/19 having netted 12 times in all competitions – only strikers Tony Gray and Josh Amis scored more.

In further good news, attacking midfielder Bohan Dixon has also agreed to remain at Cantilever Park for next season.

Dixon was also productive in terms of goals, scoring nine times in all competitions.

The duo’s decision to stay takes the number of retentions to nine.

However, there is also news of a departure as defender Adam Hughes has left the club.

Hughes, who featured at left-back and centre-half for Carden’s men, is believed to be on his way to Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints.
