Woolston Rovers 46 Salford City Roosters 6

MAL Holt felt his Woolston Rovers side were “always in control” as they bounced back to winning ways in National Conference League Division Three.

Salford City Roosters were comfortably dispatched at Monk Sports Club, with Ben Dixon converting all but one of their eight tries – one of which he scored himself.

Christian Taylor bagged a brace after Dan Fearnley, Sam Roberts, Justin Becker, Callum Moore and Josh Sudlow had crossed the whitewash.

“It was good for us to get back to winning ways against a very spirited Salford side,” Holt said.

“The game never really caught fire and we were a little off with some of our execution, but we were always in control.

“We needed a result after last week's loss and we got that so I am happy.

“We had a few more gears to move up if needed but we know we had lots of petrol left in the tank.”
