WARRINGTON Town fans will travel more than 100 less miles following their team away from home next season.

Based upon distances to each of their rivals’ grounds from Cantilever Park, Yellows will travel a total of 1,348.9 miles to away games next season after the make-up of the Evo-Stik Premier Division was confirmed.

Gone are lengthy trips to the likes of Hednesford Town and Workington and in their place come shorter visits to relegated Ashton United and FC United of Manchester as well as promoted Atherton Collieries and Radcliffe.

However, their longest trip also comes to the home of a new rival – a mammoth 175-mile journey to Morpeth Town in the north east.

Town’s average away trip for next year is 64.23 miles – down from just over 70 miles for the season just gone.

Their shortest trip remains the hop of just over 10 miles to neighbours Witton Albion.

As well as losing Farsley Celtic to promotion and Workington and Marine to relegation, the Evo-Stik Premier Division will also be without Hednesford Town after the Pitmen were reassigned to the Southern League Central.

The new season will get underway on Saturday, August 17.
