Crosfields 22 Shaw Cross Sharks 12

A “QUICKER and most astute” second-half display helped Crosfields fight back and avoid a third straight defeat on Saturday.

Trailing 12-0 at the break, Soap ran in four tries without reply to ensure the absence of skipper Jack Reid did not prove costly.

Elliot Bridge, Louis Wainwright, John Whittaker and Dan Reid crossed for Ian Boden’s side, with Luke Walker adding three goals.

“We were not smart enough in the first 40,” Boden said.

“The game was being played at their pace and that didn't suit us.

“We have to accept that we can’t play promiscuous rugby all the time – the first half was a prime example of this.

“Credit to the lads, we were quicker and more astute in the second half and got the rewards we deserved.”
