Blackbrook 10 Latchford Albion 6
CONTROVERSY ruled the day as Latchford Albion thought they were cruelly robbed of the chance to end Blackbrook’s unbeaten start to the season.
Dave Yii thought he had muscled over from dummy-half in the dying embers of the game, but the referee could not see the ball on the floor and the try was ruled out.
Yii’s frustrations boiled over – he was sin-binned for his protests and with him went Albion’s chances of victory.
Latchford were 4-0 down at the break and that deficit was extended early in the second half before Jake Ashall, who had an earlier try ruled out for offside, burst onto Matty Ellis’ inside ball to score their only try of the game.
Albion host Hindley in a rearranged fixture on Thursday, kick off 7.30pm.
