STEVE Price says he is looking forward to watching Daryl Clark develop into more of a leader after he committed his long-term future to Warrington Wolves.

The Wire confirmed yesterday, Wednesday, that their star hooker had agreed upon a three-year extension to his contract – tying him to the club until November 2023.

Clark will be 30 when his new deal expires and Price believes he will have grown into more of a key voice in the dressing room by then.

“He’s a player that’s slowly progressing in that role.

“I see a lot more upside and development in him in terms of leadership. You get that through experience and maturity.

“I’m confident that’s the next level for Daz.

“He’s been great since we’ve come together so I’m really happy to tie him down.

“I see his game growing and I see so much more development in him.

“He plays an important role in our squad and it goes to show that a lot of the players are keen to stay around and invest in the Wolves for years to come.

“That says a lot about the culture of our organisation.”
