WARRINGTON-BORN footballer David Brooks has been recognised for an exceptional first season in the Premier League.
The former Woolston Rovers FC junior is among the nominees for the PFA Young Player of the Year award after an excellent campaign with AFC Bournemouth.
After joining from Sheffield United in the summer, Brooks has scored seven goals and assisted five more in the top flight this year.
The Wales international has some high-quality competition for the honour, including Manchester City star Raheem Sterling.
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and West Ham midfielder Declan Rice are also nominated.
