RYLANDS will have a shot at a historic promotion on Saturday.

They travel to Stone Old Alleynians on Saturday, kick off 3pm, knowing a win will put them out of reach of the chasing pack to secure the North West Counties League First Division South title.

A place in the Premier Division will cap an unprecedented first ever season at North West Counties level for the side co-managed by Stuart Wellstead and David McNabb, who have reached 100 league goals with three games still to play.

Blues put themselves on the brink of glory with a 1-0 victory over Cammell Laird at Gorsey Lane on Saturday.

They came into the game having scored 99 league goals this season and the honour of taking them to three figures went to Liam Moran as he headed home a corner just before half time.

The hosts had to hang on when Harry Molyneux was sent off in injury time, but did so to put themselves within touching distance of promotion.
