RETURNS for two England internationals will stand Warrington Wolves Women in much better stead for their first ever home game today, head coach Lee Westwood says.

Hooker Danielle Bound and loose forward Samantha Simpson, who missed the 28-20 opening-day loss at Barrow Island, will come back in as the Wire Women take on neighbours Widnes Vikings at Victoria Park.

Prop Shereen McCartney is also expected to come in and Westwood believes they will make all the difference.

“We’ve got three girls who will come back into the squad this week who didn’t play at Barrow – two of them are England players or previous England players.

“They will guide us a bit more and give us that extra experience. They are going to help us massively.

“Those three coming in, plus a little bit of fix-up from the errors we made at the weekend, sets us up well for the Widnes game.

“Some of the girls know a lot of the Widnes players and we have two in our squad who played for Widnes last year.

“The banter’s already flying between the girls. I’m sure it will be as tough and physical as it was at Barrow but we will be a lot better prepared.”

Today's game kicks off at 2pm at Victoria Park. Wolves members can gain free entry, with non-member admission costing £3 for adults and £1 for juniors and concessions.
