BRYSON Goodwin is in contention to return to the Warrington Wolves team for Friday’s trip to St Helens.

The centre has not played since injuring his ankle in the win over Castleford Tigers on March 7 but has returned to full training.

Head coach Steve Price says the New Zealand international will be given time to prove his fitness but confirmed the game at the Totally Wicked Stadium comes too soon for Jake Mamo to return from his own ankle injury.

“Jake’s getting close but he won’t play on Friday. He’s doing everything right but he’ll pull up just short for this week,” he said.

“Bryson is doing okay – he trained today. We’ll make more of a decision on him after our captain’s run.

“I’ve still got a few decisions to make about the make-up of our bench. We had our big session today so I’ll think about that over the next couple of days.”

Price confirmed Mike Cooper and Jack Hughes will return to the starting 13, with Lama Tasi and Harvey Livett the players expected to drop out.

They may simply revert to the bench or Price could keep faith with Matt Davis and Danny Walker, who featured from the interchanges in last week’s win over London Broncos.
