n Oldham St Annes 17
n Latchford Albion 14
LATCHFORD’S win hopes were dashed when a 73rd minute try put a determined St Annes side in front in a tense Division One clash on Saturday.
Albion took the lead after 25 minutes when they ran the ball on the last tackle and Sam Dobson sold the home defence an audacious dummy before racing over, with Alex Davies adding the conversion.
Following a quick play of the ball, Chris Griffiths’ short pass allowed Fraser Jones-Lake to barge through the home defence and double the lead.
From the resulting restart, a Latchford error gifted possession and field position to the hosts.
Registering their first try proved to be a momentum changer.
