BEN Westwood is proving to be an inspiration to the newly formed Wolves Women rugby league team which makes its league debut at Barrow on Sunday.
The Wire back-rower is assistant coach to Lee Westwood, who head up a team only assembled since trials took place in December.
"A few colleagues have been asking me about Bennie Westwood being one of our coaches," said 28-year-old loose-forward Cat Davies, a personal trainer who is gearing up for her first season in the sport after becoming interested watching the men at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

"I’ve said he’s a genuinely nice guy, down to earth and he just cracks on with it. With his experience it helps us out massively.
"He’s an inspiration to us and he’s a laugh, which you want as well because you don’t want it to be constantly serious.
"I thought I’d go to the trial sessions and see what happens – if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be.
"But I was really shocked to be picked for the squad and I was squealing at Bennie Westwood down the phone when he rang to tell me."
The squad came together for their shirt presentation dinner on Saturday night, including captain Roxy Mura in her wedding dress after marrying The Wire's Tongan international Ben Murdoch-Masila earlier in the day.
Now it is all systems go.
"We want to be winning but we’ve still got a lot to work on and we’ve still got to work well together as a team," said Davies.
Lee Westwood has named his 19-woman squad for Sunday's opener at Barrow Island, kick-off 2.30pm:
Terri Allen, Gillian Capper, Sally Conyers, Sophie Cowle, Jade Crosby, Amy Daniels, Cat Davies, Sarah Faulkner, Megan Garvey, Ellie Jelves, Amber Leyland, Keira McCosh, Megan Moore, Roxy Murdoch-Masila (c), Mollie Parker, Jennifer Pickersgill, Rowanne Smalley, Aimie Toher, Rebekah Wilson
The team's first home fixture is on Sunday 14 April, against rivals Widnes Vikings, kick-off 2pm, at the Asics Stadium, Victoria Park.
