FORMER Warrington Wolves hooker Brad Dwyer made Super League history last night - and his Wire teammates were queuing up to congratulate him.

Dwyer was the unlikely drop-goal hero as Leeds Rhinos edged out Castleford Tigers 21-20 at Headingley in what was the competition's first ever televised regular-season golden point scenario.

Barely a minute into the extra period with the scores locked at 20-20, Dwyer booted an unorthodox drop goal and the crowd watched on in amazement as it arrowed between the uprights.

Head coach David Furner quickly went from disbelief to jubilation, while Dwyer's former Wolves teammates were quick to point out that kind of thing was a regular occurence in training.
