Crosfields A 12 Burtonwood Bridge 28

FOR the second week running, Burtonwood Bridge were able to enjoy victory at the expense of a cross-town rival.

They had to come from behind at Hood Lane against Crosfields A, who stormed into a 12-0 lead in the first quarter of the game thanks to tries from Alex Clutterbuck and Aaron Holliday – both of which were converted by Brad Stanway.

Jack Graham and Will Weir tries – plus a Jos Woods penalty – had brought Bridge back to within two points at the break before they went through the gears after the interval.

Jack O’Neill, Rikki St Pier and Almer Salvilla all crossed, with Woods adding conversions for all three as Bridge continued their winning start to North West Men’s League Division Three.

They take on Woolston Rovers A at Fir Tree Lane in another Warrington ‘derby’ on Saturday while Soap A travel to Leigh East A. Both games kick off at 2.30pm.
