RYAN Atkins’ try against Catalans Dragons on Saturday took him past Jonathan Davies in terms of total points scored in a Warrington shirt.

The centre is now on 664 points – two ahead of dual-code Welsh legend Davies, who amazingly scored his 662 points in just 62 games for The Wire and was the last Warrington player to win the Man of Steel award in 1994.

The try was Atkins’ third of the season and 166th for the club in total, meaning his next four-pointer will move him further up the club’s all-time try-scoring chart.

It will see him join club legends Parry Gordon and Ally Naughton in joint-fifth place.

Meanwhile, Brett Hodgson currently holds the record for number of points scored by a Wire player in a single game against Castleford – and it will take a pretty special effort to beat it.

The full-back scored 22 points – encompassing two tries and seven goals – against the Tigers in April 2012 as Wolves won 54-6 at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Ben Westwood holds the record for the number of goals kicked in a game against Castleford having booted over nine against his hometown club in The Wire’s 54-30 win in July 2010.

In the same game, Richie Myler scored a hat-trick of tries – the joint-most by a Wire player in this fixture and he was the last player to do so.
