THIS Warrington Town side just loves scoring late goals.

Yesterday’s 3-3 draw with Nantwich Town was just another example of there being no quit in Paul Carden’s squad.

In all, goals scored in the 85th minute or later have now earned them 10 points this season and have been a big part of why there currently sit top of the Evo-Stik Premier Division table.

Here’s a look at all of Yellows’ late, late shows this campaign:

Warrington 3 Nantwich 3 – yesterday

HAVING trailed 3-1 before the break against their Cheshire rivals, it looked for all money as if Yellows would blow the chance to go top of the league handed to them by Farsley Celtic’s shock home defeat to Witton Albion.

They went into half-time 3-2 down after a crazy first half and spent the second period knocking on the Nantwich door.

It looked like it would remain shut until Tony Gray steered home Dylan Vassallo’s corner in the dying seconds of injury time.

Warrington 1 Lancaster 1 – January 19

THE story was very similar in this game in that Tony Gray was Yellows’ saviour when they looked set for another home defeat.

This one seemed even more unlikely, though, as Adam Hughes’ petulant red card had reduced them to 10 men before Brad Carsley gave Lancaster the lead with just seven minutes remaining.

It looked as though Yellows would get what they deserved for a poor display until Gray curled home a stunning free kick with the game’s final kick to rescue a point – one Paul Carden admitted post-match they had “robbed.”

Farsley 3 Warrington 3 – January 5

YELLOWS could have been forgiven for thinking their luck was out in this one.

Despite being in control for much of the game against their title rivals – and taking the lead through a Bohan Dixon penalty – they found themselves 3-1 down.

However, Paul Carden introduced Josh Amis from the bench and that changed everything.

After pulling one back not long after coming on, the big target man nodded home with three minutes remaining to complete a superb comeback.

Witton 1 Warrington 2 – December 26

HISTORY repeated itself on Boxing Day as Yellows once again left the home of their neighbours with all three points.

In 2017, Town won thanks to an injury-time goal from a substitute and it was déjà vu for the hosts.

Exactly a year after Tony Gray had sent the travelling fans into raptures, Jack Mackreth raced through to do exactly the same for a 10-man Yellows, who had Evan Gumbs harshly sent off shortly beforehand.

Warrington 2 Buxton 1 – December 22

THIS was another game in which Yellows were below par – and it looked distinctly likely that they would start their festive campaign on the wrong foot.

They trailed for much of the game against Buxton thanks to Alex Brown’s early goal until Jack Dunn converted a penalty to equalise with five minutes left.

However, Dom Reid then curled in a superb injury-time winner to ensure Town would have a very merry Christmas.

Warrington 2 Hyde 1 – November 24

THIS time, Yellows had a loan player to thank for turning one point into three with a late goal.

It looked for all the world as if they were to be frustrated by a resolute Hyde outfit after Nicky Platt had cancelled out Tony Gray’s early opener.

With five minutes left, Town’s moment came as Stockport loanee Jake Kirby drove through a sea of bodies to seal a crucial win.
