Manchester 46 Moore 24
MOORE missed the chance to go top of the league as their 11-match winning streak came to an end.
They were beaten on Saturday by third-place Manchester, who leapfrog them in the North West Intermediate League Division Three South as a result.
Sam Craven had given the Black and Golds the lead inside the first minute, but the hosts stretched into a commanding lead before Jayson Biddle crashed over to make the score 28-12 at the break.
Two early second-half tries effectively put the game beyond Moore but the visitors did finish strongly thanks to tries from Joe Pidgeon and Matt Bradshaw.
Moore return to third – two points behind Manchester and league leaders Anselmians – ahead of a two-week break from fixtures.
Their next game sees them travel to Capenhurst on Saturday, March 9.
