WOOLSTON Rovers will host host rivals Crosfields in two pre-season friendlies at Monk Sports Club on Saturday.

The A teams will square up at noon, the first teams at 2pm.

Culcheth Eagles came out on top 20-8 at Rochdale Cobras, with tries from Daz Appleby, two, Joe Costello and Tom Disley. Man-of-the-match James Wilde added two goals.

This Saturday they host Unicorns 13, a Dutch select side that include Netherlands internationals, kick-off 2.30pm at Shaw Street.

Tom Standish touched down and kicked a penalty as Culcheth under 14s drew 6-6 with Wigan St Cuthberts. Luca Nelson was named player of the match, while Luke Tighe was the most improved.

Meanwhile, Ben Tuson scored four tries for Rylands under sevens in a 44-44 draw with Golborne.

The strong team performance also included hat-tricks from Charlie Wilson and Bobby Pownall, with Shay Davies adding Sharks' other try.

Player-of-the-match Caiden Driscoll crossed for the Sharks try in a 32-4 loss to Ince Rose Bridge at under nines level.

Patrick Kane took the coach's player-of-the-match award, while Amber Lawless was top tackler and Leon Taylor provided the magic moment.

Tries from Mckenzie Morris, two, Jasper Porter, Sonny Rudd, Ryan Collins and Ellis Burrows, who also added a conversion, were unable to prevent Rylands Sharks under 10s falling to Crosfields.

Liam Bretherton, Anthony Hallam and Leon Stretton crossed for Rylands White Sharks under 11s in a 16-14 loss to Latchford Blacks.

Rylands Sharks' merged under 13s side lost 22-10 at Orrell St James, who added a late try to secure the win.

Josh Brownlee and Marshall Hayes scored Rylands' tries and player-of-the-match Callum Sharp added a goal.

Charlie Yeomans topped the tackle count, with Jakub Krys taking the coach's award.
