MATTHEW Domville broke two county records over the weekend – including one that had stood for over two decades.

The Warriors of Warrington swimmer won the over 17s 100m freestyle at the Cheshire County Championships in Macclesfield in 51.3secs – breaking a record that was set in 1997.

He then went on to break his own county record in the 100m butterfly and also took gold in the 200m individual medley.

Domville’s outstanding performance led to him being awarded the overall Top Boy award.

Warriors swimmers brought home medals aplenty from Macclesfield, with Ronnie Weall dominating the 12-year age group by scooping four gold medals.

Joe Ashley brought home three golds in the 10/11 years age group, Rokia Farag and Sophie Weston won two each in the 10/11 years and 13 years categories respectively while Ava Vincent picked up one gold in the 12 years age group.

In addition to these accolades, Warriors swimmers also brought home silver and bronze medals and achieved personal best times to make the final weekend of the championships a successful one.
