Rylands 6 Stone Dominoes 0

BRAD Williams was the star of the show as Rylands got themselves back to winning ways at Gorsey Lane.

They went into Saturday’s clash against Stone Dominoes on the back of two straight defeats – against Cammell Laird in the Macron Cup and Abbey Hulton United in the league.

However, they took out all their frustrations on the North West Counties League Division One South’s bottom side as they moved back to the top of the table.

Williams struck four times for Blues after Tom Croughan had put them ahead, with Gary Kenny also on the scoresheet at Rylands Recreation Club.

Williams had only scored three times in an injury-disrupted season before Saturday's game, but Stone had no answer to his finishing.

Blues are now in a three-way tie for top spot, with Abbey Hulton and Wythenshawe Amateurs joining them on 50 points so far.

However, Rylands’ vastly superior goal difference keeps them ahead of their rivals, with Saturday’s haul taking them up to 70 league goals so far this season.

Co-managers Stuart Wellstead and Dave McNabb must now prepare their team for two away games in a row this week.

They visit Sandbach United on Saturday, kick off 3pm, before another trip to Cammell Laird on Tuesday night, kick off 7.45pm.
