EAGLE Sports failed to capitalise on results around them in the Cheshire League Premier Division on Saturday.

They could have moved up to third in the table but fell to a 3-1 reverse at Whaley Bridge Athletic.

Substitute Chris Quirk was on the scoresheet for Eagle, who have now lost back-to-back games.

Elsewhere, Moore United thrashed neighbours Rylands reserves 6-0 to progress in the JA Walton Challenge Cup.

Tom Smith, Declan Wakefield, Jordan Rudge, Chris Sweeney, Sam Chaddock and an own goal booked another cross-town clash with Orford on Saturday in the next round.

Another clash between neighbours saw Greenalls PSO’s reserves hammer their Orford counterparts 7-1.

Many of Greens’ first-team players featured and the game ended with seven different goalscorers for the hosts.

Lewis Morgans, George Farrelly, Ben McWilliams, Ross Ward, Ellis Houghton, Ryan Hayes and Alfie Davies were on the scoresheet for Greens.

In League One, Grappenhall Sports were beaten 1-0 at home by Windle Labour.
