YVONNE Sampson hailed a brilliant Warrington Town netball performance as second-placed Bury were smashed 59-45 in the North West Premier League.
Her side sit fifth on the ladder going into the festive break with a victory that turned around a four-goal loss at Bury on the opening day of the season.
"The squad were fired up from the whistle and played with passion, conviction, commitment and most importantly played as a team who believed they could win and they did," said Sampson.
Bury, who were fielding some England under 19s players, led by one goal but the second quarter belonged to Warrington.
"They absolutely played Bury off the court winning the quarter 21-5," said Sampson.
"This was reflected in both of our shooters having over 70 percent shooting stats throughout the game."
Player of the match was awarded to goal-shooter Lucy Bradley, while the players' player honour went to wing attack/wing defence Katie Brennan.
Another positive from the game for Town was a debut appearance from Hannah Coley-Knowles, one of the club's up-and-coming youngsters.
Town's next outing is at fourth-placed Blackpool on January 12.
