THREE Warrington-based karate clubs teamed up to take on the best Europe had to offer.
Members of the Culcheth-based EKA squad led by head coach Gary Foxwell combined with Great Sankey Leisure Centre’s SSK team and the SSKA England squad from Cheshire Martial Arts Centre, led by head coaches Ste Nelson and Paul Graham respectively.
Between the three clubs, they brought back 33 medals across all age ranges from the WUKF European Karate Championships in Malta.
More than 2,000 competitors and 50 federations from across Europe competed, with the Warrington karatekas putting in high-class performances across the board.
In total, 29 members the three clubs, including the coaches, travelled to Malta.
