IN a high-class field at the Telford 10km road race, Steve Watmough still came home with a prize on Sunday.

The Warrington Athletics Club veteran finished in 268th place overall against some quality competition.

However, his time of 35mins 55secs was good enough to win the over 55s age group.

Elsewhere, clubmate Daniel Newman was in cross country action for his Scottish club Fife Athletic Club.

He travelled to Aberdeen to compete in the Scottish East District cross country championships, where he finished just outside the top 100 at Balgownie Playing Fields.

His time of 35mins 47secs placed him 109th overall and sixth in the over 50s age group.
