IMAD Nasseb made a little piece of history last night as he shone in a national final.
The Phoenix Fire fighter from Great Sankey won the prestigious National Boys and Girls Club under 21 national title in Manchester – the first Warrington-born boxer of Pakistani heritage to do so.
Nasseb earned a convincing points victory over Scott Miller of Chadwell St Marys at Gorton Monastery in what was a quality display from both fighters.
It was the Warrington 20-year-old’s effective counter-punching that eventually earned him a win by unanimous decision, with all five ringside judges awarding him all three rounds.
He had reached the final by stopping Birmingham City's Kumar Kumar in the last four.
